The New England Shakespeare Oxford Library is now building its catalog of approximately 750 books on the Shakespeare authorship question, including many of the books published since 1920 on the case for Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford as the true Shakespere. In addition to our present collection, we will be regularly acquiring current publications in both authorship studies and mainstream Shakespeare studies.

Our collection also includes a selection of books on the Baconian and Marlovian theories of the Shakespeare authorship, and many of the primary texts on Shakespeare research and studies over the past 2 centuries (e.g. Bullough''''s Narrative and Dramatic Sources of Shakespeare, Furness''''s The Variorum Shakespeare, First Folio reprints, quarto reprints from the Folger Shakespeare Library, etc.)

We also have full runs of the primary Oxfordian periodicals published in the past 70 years, including the old Shakespeare Fellowship newsletters and quarterly, the Shakespearean Authorship Review, the Bard, the De Vere Society newsletter from Britain, the Edward de Vere Newsletter, Spear-Shaker Review, the Shakespeare Oxford Society newsletter and its annual journal The Oxfordian, and the revised Shakespeare Fellowship newsletter (Shakespeare Matters).

We expect the basics of building our catalog to be completed by Spring 2009, at which time we will be "open for business" and able to lend some books, and provide photocopies from current and past authorship studies and mainstream periodicals. Our catalog will also incorporate links to all non-subscription online resources for these texts, including records for items which we may not own, but which are available on the web.

We invite you to check in regularly on the progess in building our catalog, and join us next fall.
