The Study Center includes a significant gift from scholar John M. MacGregor. The collection includes rare titles by Jean Dubuffet, Dr. Leo Navratil, artists associated with Gugging, including Johann Hauser, and significant titles related to art brut artists. With an emphasis on the historical scholarship of art and psychiatry, the emergence of art brut, and European naive and outsider artists, the John M. MacGregor collection's focus and range is unsurpassed.

Additionally, the Study Center also houses a complete set of writings by Henry Darger on microfilm. Generously donated by Kiyoko Lerner, the writings include all the volumes of The Realms of the Unreal, The History of My Life, The Vivian Girls in Chicago, and various other manuscripts. We are pleased to be able to make Henry Darger's voluminous writings available and thank Kiyoko Lerner for this incredible source material.
